FISH TANK

It is HOT yall, so playtime outside is nonexistent. So we headed to the Children’s Aquarium in Fair Park. This aquarium is small but perfect for little ones. Plus it is cheap and a good way to get out of the house for an hour or so.  So you may be thinking, why are you are taking a baby to an aquarium?  Let me tell yall, this kid was all about IT and enjoyed watching everything.  He loves to be out and about and loves to watch fish/people/dogs/etc.  We try to go stroller free when possible it is less hassle and easier to get around.  Luckily, I have finally found a baby carrier that Max does not mind and one that he can sit in for long periods of time.  Walking around the aquarium with max close to my chest and Mark by my side was the best way to spend a Saturday.  Both Mark and I enjoyed watching the fish swim carefree in their tanks.  It made us both want a fish tank so BAD!  If we had to describe Max as a fish he would be a piranha fish.  He is so aggressive when it is time for him to eat from his bottle. It is adorable how he goes in for the kill and latches on to the bottle.

Sarah’s Fav:  Mr. Sea turtle and his buddy {not sure what type of fish it was}. Mr. Sea turtle was injured in netting and his right fin’s had to be amputatedL.  His fish buddy stays below him to help assist him {push’s him up} to get air.  I could have watched these two for hours.

Mark’s Fav:   I enjoyed the Shark Tank (sans Mark Cuban).   We got lots of pictures, and it was great being so close to them.  I liked seeing the cousins of the Hammerhead shark.  I think they were called Crabcrushers.  They have their eyes on each end of their snout, like a Hammerhead.  I also liked getting Max a stuffed Turtle.

Here are some pictures of our day.   And next time you see a plastic bag floating around, please pick it up!  Sea turtles mistaken the plastic bags for jelly fish and choke on them. That breaks my heart.

BIG MAMA :(

WOMP! That is how I feel about this baby weight.  It is now almost five months post baby and still have so much to lose.  I gained 73lbs while pregnant. UGH. Luckily I did not have gestational diabetes while pregnant .Before I became a mother I thought it would be so easy to lose the weight while on maternity leave. HA. I thought I could just workout all day while the baby slept what a joke.  Max was a handful from the beginning.  He only took brief naps during the day and was very vocal {cried} a LOT!  Also I was so overwhelmed in the beginning working out was the last thing on my mind.  Fast-forward to now and I am still struggling with finding the time to work out and eat right.  I know what it takes to lose weight, count calories and workout. Simple right..WRONG.  After getting off work and getting Max, I want to spend time playing/talking with him until he goes to sleep, then I still need to eat dinner.  The last thing I want to do is workout.  How do working moms find the energy to workout after a full day at work, time with the kiddo and eat dinner before it is time to go to bed ?  I wake up between 5:30am to 6am.  I get to work by 7am to 7:30am.  Home by 5pm. Hang with Max until he falls asleep anywhere between 7:30pm to 8ish.  Dinner and then I am ready for bed.  Where do I put an hour of working out? I need to figure it out soon, since we are going to Mexico in September.  I am getting depressed just thinking about it.  SAD FACE.

MAX 4.5

Max has only been a part of our family for four and half months and it feels like we have known him for a lifetime.  We can’t imagine this world without him and his sweet adorable face.  He is such a happy baby as long as he is not hungry then he turns into MAD MAX.  He still is not rolling over yet but he is getting so close.  He likes to give his daddy high fives, and he likes to grab mommy’s hair and not let go.  Whatever is in reach, he’s going to grab.  He loves to grab his animal friends on his activity mat (Thanks mama jane!)  He also loves putting everything in his mouth except his pacifier which he is constantly spitting onto the floor.

His smile is contagious and loves to laugh at silly sounds.  We think he has such a great personality and he can’t wait to talk to us.  Talk about talking, this boy loves to talk.  He loves to talk at 4am in the morning and all day long. He recently started to just scream and then laugh.  This is one silly boy.

We’ve enjoyed becoming Max’s personal trainer.  When we were at the doctor, she stood him up and his legs were like jelly.  She told us it’s time to improve his leg strength.  So we went straight to work.  We’ve got him on a high protein diet (milk 8 times a day) and he’s really working the bike and leg press machine.  Realize that the bike is just us grabbing his legs, but we have discovered he likes going forward better than backwards.  The leg press machine is daddy’s hands with JUST the right amount of resistance.  We think he could have been in London for the Olympics, but we forgot to get him a passport.  Oh well, maybe 2016 when he becomes the youngest swimmer in Olympian history.  Watch out Michael Phelps!  Seriously, for now we would just settle for a roll-over.

ENJOY

Blood Suckers

Its summer y’all, and that means mosquitoes. We could not walk outside without getting swarmed, it was ridiculous!  We also have West Nile being reported in our area so I really wanted to do something about these blood suckers.  With the baby and the dogs I wanted something that would not be harmful to them.  Luckily we found this amazing product SKEETER SCREEN PATIO EGG and it WORKS!  This little egg deters biting insects and is DEET FREE.  This product does not kill the misquitoes which I would be fine if it did, but it does keep them from chillin at your house {sorry neighbors} . If you also have an issue with these vampire insects visits their website at www.scentshop.com   or if you are in DFW area you can go to their shop in Garland which we did since it is next door to our babysitter’s house.
